Robert Boily is a Canadian scientist and long-time (>35 years) Senior Science Advisor to the Government of Canada (NSERC, NRC, Canadian Space Agency, National Defence, Environment Canada, Natural Resources Canada), the Government of Quebec (INRS, Hydro-Quebec), academia and the industry. His scientific career spans 50 years at the vanguard of research and more than 1000 projects conducted in programs totalling hundreds of millions of dollars. Multidisciplinary research is the DNA of his career and therefore, his work has furthered numerous areas of science such as electronics, imaging, aerospace, 3D vision, medical technologies, solar cells, electrical energy, photonics, nanomaterials and others. He is President (2025-2028) of the Academy of Science of Canada, Vice President of the Royal Society of Canada, and official Mentor of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Montreal.
