I am a Candidate of Economic Sciences (PhD) and Associate Professor with over 20 years of teaching and research experience in the field of accounting, analysis, and audit. My academic credentials have been officially evaluated in Canada, and I am recognized at the level of Professor. In Ukraine, I served as an Associate Professor at Kharkiv National Technical University of Agriculture and at the State Biotechnological University, where I taught courses in accounting and managerial accounting and supervised undergraduate and graduate students. My research interests focus on accounting, financial analysis, audit, and the application of information technologies in financial analytics and the digitalization of accounting processes. I am the author of numerous scientific articles, textbooks, and methodological materials, and I also serve as a reviewer and editorial board member for international journals. Since 2022, I have been living in British Columbia, Canada, after being forced to leave Ukraine due to the war. I am eager to contribute to Canada’s academic and professional community through teaching, research, and international collaboration.

What I do:

I am a researcher and educator in the field of accounting, analysis, and auditing, with a particular focus on the digitalization of accounting processes and the integration of modern information technologies into accounting practices and financial analysis. My academic career, which began in Ukraine and continues in Canada, is driven by a passion for exploring how digital tools can transform accounting, making it more transparent, efficient, and aligned with international standards. Teaching has always been a central part of my professional work. I am inspired by guiding students and graduate students, helping them not only acquire technical knowledge but also develop critical thinking and the ability to adapt to complex economic environments. Engaging with students, colleagues, and international partners constantly fuels my curiosity and broadens my professional horizons. My mission is to contribute to the modernization of accounting education and research, preparing financial specialists equipped with the skills and mindset required for digital transformation. By combining academic knowledge with practical applications, I strive to produce outcomes that support innovation, transparency, and sustainable development in both science and society.

Why me:

With over 23 years of academic experience as a professor and researcher, I bring a strong foundation in economics, accounting, auditing, and taxation, alongside extensive expertise in leadership and program development. My PhD in Economics has shaped my career as an educator and mentor, enabling me to bridge theory with practice and guide students and colleagues in solving real-world problems. What distinguishes me among peers is my ability to combine academic rigor with practical application. I have supervised student research, developed new curricula, and introduced analytical methods that strengthened decision-making both in academia and in business. Beyond teaching and research, I have also led nonprofit initiatives where I successfully designed programs, secured funding, and managed budgets—experience that reinforced my organizational and leadership skills. As a scholar from Ukraine now continuing my professional journey in Canada, I bring with me resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to contributing to the academic and professional community here. My international background allows me to thrive in multicultural settings, foster inclusive collaboration, and communicate effectively across diverse perspectives. Above all, I am deeply passionate about advancing knowledge, building meaningful professional connections, and using education and science as powerful tools for positive change.

Fun facts:

A few fun facts about me: I hold a PhD in Economics and have over 23 years of teaching and research experience in accounting, auditing, and taxation. After arriving in Canada, I received a grant to establish a non-profit organization, where I independently managed program development, budgeting, and operations. I have an extensive record of academic publications and international conference presentations. I also bring five years of hands-on experience as a Chief Accountant in a construction company, where I successfully navigated audits and financial reviews. I am fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, and English, and I am comfortable delivering presentations in all three languages. I am passionate about making complex topics clear and engaging, transforming theory into practical and relatable examples. I enjoy mentoring young researchers and students, guiding them toward academic and professional growth. Outside of work, I love exploring Canada, engaging with local communities, and cooking traditional Ukrainian dishes.
