The main work of my laboratory focuses on understanding the dynamic interactions and regulation along gene expression and RNA maturation pathways that lead to complex heterogeneity and functional, including malignant, plasticity. Using proteomic, RNomic, biochemical and computational approaches, we are elucidating dynamic changes, parallel pathways, direct interactions between complex components of DNA and RNA networks in S. cerevisiae, and human cells to determine links between regulation of gene expression pathways, DNA damage networks, and disease development. I have worked in the field of RNA maturation since 1999, and proteomics since 2003, and cell homeostasis and relation of RNA pathways in disease (e.g., ALS) since 2016.
